Cookies and Christmas

Cherry Chip Cookies!

I found a recipe for easy cookies last week.  I went to the grocery store yesterday, and decided to pick up the ingredients.

Any cake mix will do, chocolate, lemon, white, whichever you choose.  Cherry chip cake mix was on sale, and I thought the hubs would probably like that flavor.

Add 1 egg, and an 8oz cool whip.  It’s sticky when you mix it up!

Then, a teaspoon full of batter rolled in powdered sugar.  That is dang messy!

Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.  The house smelled soooo good!  I’ll post the entire recipe below.

Wrapping up Christmas

Last weekend, I cooked most of my good recipes over Saturday and Sunday.  While I was cooking, Santa came for a visit!

I made chili, scalloped potatoes and ham, chicken pot pie, string pie, tuna noodle casserole, venison ring bologna, and stromboli.

These are all of the foods that Baby Girl likes to eat, and after eating college food for a semester, she wants Momma’s home cooking.

Rob’s “Sampler Plate”

Baby Girl arrived home early evening last night.  I was so excited and happy that she was coming home, and the hug I got when she got home made my smile even larger!

Along with Baby Girl came all her “stuff”, along with gifts to wrap for Christmas.

She always asks if I will wrap her gifts for her.  I tried to think back to the first time I ever wrapped presents, and couldn’t remember how I was taught or told how to wrap gifts.

I was always amazed to watch the employees of a jewelry store wrap jewelry gifts.  THEY know how to wrap gifts! They always looked perfect, and you never wanted to unwrap them – except, of course, because you wanted what was inside!

Do you remember the first time you ever wrapped a gift? How did you learn how to wrap gifts?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I am thankful and grateful that I am feeling as good as I am these days.  I attribute it all to prayers at this point.

I am only on one minor prescription drug for my cancer, one that takes all of the estrogen out of my body, since my cancer feeds on estrogen.

I still remain on morphine for the bone pain, however, I am starting to taper down on that prescription as well.

Thank you for uplifting me in your prayers.  I truly believe in the power of prayer.

So…Merry Christmas to you, and I wish you a blessed and happy new year.

All my love to you ~Erika
